The Sales Portal Main Menu has the options to take you to the functional areas of Sales Portal:

 

1) Your Account.  Is the maintenance function for the individual user.

 

2) Your Commissions.  Is the Commissions earned and paid status board.

 

3) Create Prospect.  Is the important function of manually creating a prospect, customer, or contact.

 

4) Work with Prospects.  Is the very important and heavily used function for Searching and Segmentation.  Additionally, these searches can be used for reports or exported as CSV files to other applications.

 

5) Todays Actions.  Is a calendaring function which automatically pulls up the Sales Actions for today, can show past due Sales Actions, and additionally has a desk top alarm for scheduled Actions.

 

6) Calendar.  Is the Month view of Sales Actions in a Territory, or groups of Territories.

 

7) Reporting.  Takes you to the Information Portal for Sales Portal which is a real time reporting Dashboard for Territory Counts, Status Counts, Sales Action Counts, and Past Due Sales Actions Counts.  All of which have drill down capability to the detail.  Single Territory, Groups of Territories, or Cross Territories for Management.

 

8) Custom Queries.  Stored Queries as Menu Options.  Very powerful for custom or seldom used reports which don't warrant permenant report status.  Also, excellent for data extract requirements for generating files for export into other Applications for further analysis or processing.

 

9) Support.  Is a customizable JSP for a company to post support contact information for their sales force.

 

10) Documents.  Is a powerful function which allows for simple and effective content management of sales force assets.  Any document, graphic, contract, letter, can be store in this area.  And, any content stored at the individual conract record will also automatically be added in this functional area.

 

11) Admin.  Is the key setup and maintenance area for the functions of Sales Portal.  

 

12) Configurations.  Is really a systems administration area containing company, timing, email settings, etc.

 

13) Log Out.  Allows for switching User Id's.
