The Order Portal Page Layout Options are some of the key design points of your web site's Landing Pages for the various user communities. We will use these as the basis for the Email Round Trip.
The next three screens are all the same page: Top, Bottom, and Middle.
For your information, before we get to the Landing Pages, the top of the first screen has the Menu Configurations where you establish the Menu Sequence.
Next are the default page Meta Tags and Descriptions which are used as the defaults on all main pages for the Web Sites, and they are (or can be) over ridden on each custom page and product page which allows for specific Meta Tags and Descriptions.
Next is the "Head" section for common information across the Pages. This is where items such as the Google Webmaster Tools Codes are enter to ensure all pages are tracked within an instance.
Then we get to the Landing Pages. There are five Landing Pages set up already in Order Portal: Anonymous, Customer, Affiliates, Salesman, and Customer Service Reps. This was done because Order Portal was always designed to be multi-channel with different requirements for each set. We will treat each contact set differently in the Email Round Trip Function. So, this is where you should think through which communities you will be interacting with through email.
1) Anonymous (Unauthenticated) Landing Page. This is the Main Landing Page of your website. All user types start on this page. It is primarily designed for the Anonymous or Retail visitor. Commerce is generally done via Order Portal's Shopping cart and all transactions require an email address which is used for confirmation, status, and shipping information. However, we do not assume or use these email addresses in the Round Trip Email function as these Users did not Opt in. There is a separate Email registration form on the page for those who wish to sign up for Emails which creates a separate Record in the Data Base independent of the transaction record. Additionally, there is a request form which also requires an Email address, these are also not used in the Round Trip Email function.
2) Customer Landing Page. Once on the Main Landing Page, an on account Customer would login using their User ID and Password. The Security Matrix would route them to the Customer Landing Page which often has more customer related and wholesale related information more relevant to servicing existing customer requirements. Often Users bookmark the Login Page and bypass the Main Landing Page. The Quick Order Form can be used for quickOrdering instead of the catalog shopping especially for existing customers who know exactly what they want and are doing less searching. Also, buyers and reps sometimes like to build orders over days or a week and look at past ordering history. This type of functionality would be provided on the Customer Landing Page. This set of Users is presumed to have a established business relationship with their emails in the file and generally would be included in relevant Emails to this user set through the Round Trip Email.
3) Affiliate Landing Page. Though we are not using Affiliates at this time, this Landing Page would be customized to suit their requirements. And, because Affiliates would have an established business relationship their Email addresses would generally be included in a relevant Round Trip Email.
4) Salesman Landing Page. A customized Landing Page for Sales Reps, Manufacturing Reps, etc. Would vary greatly from informational and sales promotional materials to serious replenishment orders, direct Customer Orders, statuses and reporting.
This User set would be presumed to have a business relationship and their Email addresses would generally be included in a relevant Round Trip Email.
5) Customer Service Rep Landing Page. Generally, this Landing Page is for internal personnel who could be entering orders from phone, fax, will call, etc. both wholesale and retail. They would normally use the Quick Order form for entry, often they have administrative authority, and transaction response emails: confirmation, status, shipping. And, they handle shipping updates, and sometimes a second individual would handle the billing processes. Generally, these users are not included in Round Trip Emails.
