Banner Ads can be used for actual ads which is selling space (real estate) on your web site. This can be a way of generating revenue from your web site by going direct to advertisers. This can be especially effective if your web site is a niche site, meaning has a very specific target audience.

 

Banner ads can also be used as a convenient way to display one or more pictures on the top, sides and bottom of the web page.These could be for product or services you want to highlight.  Each banner would contain the link to the actual product page.

 

You define zones and then create "Banners" for each zone. If there is more than 1 banner in a zone you can define the rotation time. The system randomly picks the first banner to display.
