The eBsuiness Suite (EBS) Rental Portal (video overview of the EBS Rental Portal) is a flexible Rental (for Hire) web transaction system that handles rental orders, sales orders, work orders and warranty/repair orders. It has scheduling, inventory, financials and accounting.
The EBS Rental Portal works best for Midrange, Entrepreneurial Companies who have, or are expanding to, a rental line of business, and need to deliver better service, wider range of services, like repairs, warranty services as well as the ability to extend to their customers, vendors, salesman, and partners over the Internet. EBS Rental Portal also works well for departments or divisions of large enterprises.
EBS Rental Portal is designed to be easy to install and easy to use without the need for an installation team.

July 2010 - new EBS Rental Portal Release
Ok, we just got release 10.05 out the door. Ok, so it was supposed to be May but we got it out last day of June, and that's really close (ok, not so close). But we have really super news. Rental Portal is now available as a PPA under Ubuntu. So apt-get and everything installs. We will be writing up our notes on exactly what you have to do, but that is pretty much it. Took us a while to figure out the PPA packaging and we will also be creating a write up on that. Source Forge is also updated. Also we have Rental Portal up on Canonical's Launchpad and the source code is also available there. Here is the link to Launchpad. You can add bugs and blueprints for new ideas and check the status of existing bugs and blueprints. The latest release notes are available from the menu on the left.

Data Migration Portal is available for free download as part of EBS Rental Portal from LaunchPad. The Data Migration Portal (DMP) was designed as the primary means of moving data between the EBS Portals as well as between other portals and legacy systems. It is flexible and can be easily adapted to other systems and data formats. DMP contains EDI components. It can accept EDI formatted files, which it reformats for download into a legacy application. It can extract data from the EBS or a legacy system and format into an EDI transaction (810/880 Invoice). DMP also contains extensive interfaces with legacy systems (especially VAI System 2000, JDEdwards, Great Plains, and DMAS).

Warehouse Management Portal - Free Open Source Software available for download from SourceForge. Inventory and warehouse control through flexible and integrated systems using radio frequency. Written in RGP ILE for the iSeries. Used in conjunction with RF Scanners and Information Portal, WMP is an effective warehouse management system with receiving, put away, picking, shipping, and physical inventory modules. A A very cost effective solution for the warehouse and even if you don't have an iSeries, just buy a used one. WMP should work with other transaction systems as long as they have a SQL data base, and a EDI interface (or flat file upload capability). Currently we have interfaces to VAI System 2000, DMAS, JD Edwards World. |

Failure Data Portal - (video overview of Failure Data Portal) Written to address world wide equipment repair and warranty requirements (RMA). FDP has evolved into a web base application that handles end user submissions, receipt and verification of equipment, repair, costing, invoicing and warranty claims, equipment and parts inventory, consignment inventory, real time status and email confirmation of key status, interfacing to manufacturing systems, partner systems, and customer systems. It is an effective solution for those who need to service in a multi-tier repair/warranty network (Direct, Sub-Contractors and Partners, and end Customers).

EBS Rental Portal is a J2EE Web applications and were developed with the Eclipse IDE using the MyEclipse package, unit test are JUnit, the regression tests are in Selenium and the reports were developed using Jasper Reports Performance testing is done with JMeter.
