Nyasha,
Several answers to that question (life is never simple
1. You can access the store with out registering. However you can not place an order with out registering.
2. For Wholesale Type customers you can allow them to purchase on Account, which means that at the point of check out, instead of paying with a credit card (for example) they can have the option to put the charge On Account. You would then bill then for the product later.
Customers can be switched from Retail to Wholesale and vice versa. So you can enable or disable the ability to pay on account through the user maintenance. For Wholesale Customers, you can set them up in advance and provide each with a user id and password.
3. If your objective is to NOT allow access to the store without registering, there are several ways of doing that:
1. first in the admin, you can leave the menu off of the home page and have the menu only display once a user is signed in.
2. Another option we have is linking catalogs to customers. So a customer can only view a catalog once they have signed in. However, this could be a lot of maintenance if you are constantly adding customers.
Anyone can sign up as a customer and they become a retail customer and get retail pricing. If you want to limit who can become a customer, the simplest solution is to remove the Create Account button from the login screen and then you would have to set up customers before they could purchase from the store.
Hope this explains a bit. Let me know if have more questions.
Here is a link to some of the Order Portal shopping screen shots:

Also we now have a run time dvd, so while it is a large download, you don't have to install anything, just pop the dvd into your PC to run a demo and see for yourself:

There are also options if you want a user to purchase from your website without registering, using the paypal buy now button and google buy now button.
thank you

Some changes in Rel 10.05 now give you control over the log in page:
1.CREATE_ACCOUNT_BUTTON_ENABLED - controls whether the create new account button displays.
2.CREATE_ACCOUNT_TEXT - lets you change the text associated with the new account creation button
3.LOGIN_TEXT - lets you control the text associated with the login button.
thanks
